Not sure what the shoot was for, sarahlouise, so not entirely sure how to comment. This may be exactly the effect you were trying to achieve.
There's a bit of incongruity here. The model is great and is posed well - looks like he's posed before and knows what he's doing (a professional?)- but the overall finish of the image is harsh, as though from a party-goer with a compact camera at a club.
I have a suspicion that this was what you were aiming for; if so, well done!
